QTW 58 - Cinepak Video, JPEG Stills, and Audio in the Same File (1-Aug-95)

Q We load and display .BMP files at the same time we play QuickTime movies. QuickTime for Windows seems to handle only one video track -- is there any way to have Cinepak video, JPEG stills, and audio all in the same file?

A If you place your JPEG stills at the end of the video track, you should be able to load and display them while the video is playing. Set the video segment to start at the beginning of the video track and end at the last frame before the stills. Open the movie file a second time to obtain a second instance of the movie.

The JPEG stills can be displayed from the second instance while Cinepak video and audio are playing from the first.

Note: You can also mix and match various video track formats by copying and pasting movie tracks, as long as you create one video track only!
